The Fey continues to get great reviews!

2011

The Fey series ventures into an area of life I know not at all: military life, special ops, green berets. The adventures of the team may or may not be realistic, but I don’t have the experience or knowledge to judge. And that’s fine; my job as reader is not to judge, but to enjoy. I thoroughly enjoyed following the challenges, failures, and successes of Alex the Fey.” – Compost Happens

“The Fey is a romance for people who hate romances; a thriller for people who hate thrillers. If I’d read this on a bus, I swear I’d have missed my stop.”
–J. Creasey , Denver, CO

“This is ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS I have ever read. It sucked me right in and I was unable to put it down. Get it now and enjoy. It really is a great book.”
–V.A., Escondido, CA

“A page-turner.”
– S. W., Denver, CO

“Claudia is the kind of writer that most writer’s aspire to be but fall short of. She lets her characters speak to her and write THEIR stories instead of allowing her ego to dictate what their stories are. Because of that, we get a raw, unadulterated view into the lives and inner workings of people like Alexandra Hargreaves and get to know them on a more intimate level. I marvel in her talent and highly recommend purchasing and reading The Fey, as well as her other novel, The Denver Cereal; Denver Cereal is also a growing serial novel available a chapter a week online and is published on http://www.denvercereal.com.”
–J. Walsh, Martinez, CA

“A great first novel. A good read. The characters are interesting and compelling. I wanted to know what would happen to them so kept coming back to finish the book. I look forward to the next book so I know what other dangers they face.”
– S. Rock, Madison, WI

“You need to warn people not to read this book at night!”
– B.V., Cincinatti, OH

“Have you read Claudia Hall Christian’s “ The Fey” yet? If not, WHY NOT? (… .) Alex is a strong, intelligent woman with a huge heart and a mystery to solve. She has fiercely loyal friends, family, and teammates, and she must set about finding who tried to kill her, and why. Her loved ones are behind her (beside her, in front of her, and above her!), and do whatever it takes to help her see her mission through to completion. A little bit of everything for everyone, “ The Fey” is a quick read, intriguing from the start. The imagery allows you to place yourself within the story and live it as if it was your own. Before you know it, you will be reading the last scene … and you will be left wanting more, but feeling satisfied all the same.

Do yourself a favor, and click that new lil widget thingamabob I have over there in my sidebar and follow the link to “The Fey.” Do yourself a bigger favor and just order the book, curl up in your favorite reading spot, and get comfortable for a few hours!” Read Review

“I devoured it in a couple of days and soon, I plan on going back for Round 2″
– C. D., Carpenteria, CA

“I can’t remember the last time I read a book cover to cover in one day….did my family get dinner? Who knows?? :) I had my nose in between the pages of a great thriller.”
–D in Canada

“I couldn’t put it down! Every time I stopped reading, even for a second, I wandered what was coming next. Once after I had already gone to bed, I was so curious that I turned the light back on to read just one more chapter… Claudia Hall Christian has a gift for intrigue and for creating intricate yet easy to read story lines. For anyone looking for something fun to read, The Fey is a page turner that will make your heart race and even when it’s over, you’ll want to know more about the dynamic cast of characters you’ll no doubt have grown to love.”

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book! Couldn’t put it down!, June 28, 2010
By A. Hansen “Alisha” (Arizona)
Normally when I read these “mystery thriller” type of books I figure out the bad guy and whats going to happen before I even hit the halfway mark…not so with this book. I read the entire thing in four hours, I couldn’t put it down because I HAD TO KNOW what happens to Alex!
The characters are all believable and real, the dialogue is witty and intense. You feel what they feel and experience the whole thing right along with them. During one touching scene of friends mourning the loss of their own I found myself wiping away tears. I was drawn in and connected to them just as surely as they are connected to each other.

I would recommend this book to anyone who is bored with reading all of those cookie cutter thrillers out there. This is book is like eating chocolate after being on a strict bread and water diet.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Fey…well worth taking the time to read, March 5, 2010

This book, while I’m not completely finished reading, I feel compelled to write a review I’ve been smitten with reading this book since I started. I love the fact that while the book has a strong military component it’s balanced with the routine of daily life and personal relationships. Ms. Christian-Hall does a fabulous job at providing details to each character, to a point that you feel that you know them too. Thank you for providing a book that is truly enjoyable to read! I must get back to my reading ;)

5.0 out of 5 stars Even Jiminy Cricket loves The Fey!, January 30, 2010

By Patricia R. (Kansas City)
Claudia Hall Christian has created a winner with Alexandra Hargreaves and her fiercely loyal team, including a close-knit military unit, family, friends – and Jiminy Cricket. We first meet Alex as she fights her way back from devastating injuries and from that moment, the action does not stop. The death of a close friend haunts Alex, but before she can move forward she must face that awful day – and the man responsible. In order to face him, she must find him – before he kills her. With the help of her friends, her twin brother, a Senator and yes, Jiminy Cricket, Alex sets out on a path that will force her to confront the demons within her as she fights to save herself and those she loves.

Claudia’s characters are vivid and real and her story is a first rate thrill-ride. It’s engaging, fast-paced, fun, and suspenseful. Lucky for us, Alex’s story doesn’t end here. This is just the first book in the series.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Fey, January 28, 2010
By Susan R. Parker “writer and reader” (San Francisco, CA USA)
The Fey The Fey leads readers on a breathless chase from one adventure to the next with eerily canny villains terrorizing a strong, smart heroine who won’t quit. Alexandra Hargreaves is a wonderful role model for women because she is independent, highly principled and gutsy as well as beautiful. She is also a Green Beret who plays Broadway show tunes in her head while being tortured, and receives information from her dead team mate when she most needs it.

Claudia Hall Christian seems to have a particularly personal relationship with her characters, all of whom are believable, intelligent and determined to tell their stories.

The book is hard to put down and this reader, for one, is most ecstatic that a new one in the series, Learning To Stand, is about to be released. I highly recommend this book and this author.

5.0 out of 5 stars Page Turning Thriller with an awesome heroine, January 21, 2010

By Victoria Acord “Vixen the bookie” (Escondido, CA)
I read a lot and I read fast, but faster when I really get into it. This book grabbed me from the very beginning and never let me go! Well-written with wonderful characters that I really identified with, this book is fantastic. It was so good in fact, that it inspired me to write this review: my first review ever!

If you love a good book that is well-written, a thriller that grabs you and keeps you, with awesome characters this book is for you!

5.0 out of 5 stars Shaken, not Stirred, June 2, 2009

By A. Winesett “Mom” (Sunshine State)
I always wonder, when reading a new author, whether they will make their female leads wispy and faint-y and wilt-y … because I cannot stand that type of woman – in fiction or in real life1 I need not have worried about “The Fey.” Alex is a strong, intelligent woman with a huge heart and a mystery to solve. She has fiercely loyal friends, family, and teammates, and she must set about finding who tried to kill her, and why. Her loved ones are behind her (beside her, in front of her, and above her!), and do whatever it takes to help her see her mission through to completion. A little bit of everything for everyone, “The Fey” is a quick read, intriguing from the start. The imagery allows you to place yourself within the story and live it as if it was your own. I am not a huge reader of fiction, but this is one book I enjoyed. From the start of The Fey, Claudia Hill Christian makes the book very interesting. I absolutely loved the book and had a hard time putting it down. I loved it and would recommend anyone that wants a good book to read. In fact I told my wife she needed to read it. I can’t wait till I can read the second book in the series.

You know those female lead characters that are all wispy and weepy and “woe is me”? Well, if that is what you like, GO AWAY! Muahahahah

Alex (“the Fey”) is a strong, intelligent woman. She is a fierce competitor with a heart of gold, and she has a mystery to solve: she must set about finding who tried to kill her, and why.
